How Do Civil Process Servers Work


A process server delivers legal documents to individuals alerting recipients that they are involved in a court case. These documents may vary from divorce papers, custody papers, and eviction notices to restraining orders, court summons, and subpoenas to testify or provide evidence. All of which fall in four categories of common legal papers: writs, subpoenas, summons, and complaints.
